Medicare Advantage ( Part C )
Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private insurance companies that "replace" Original Medicare. This means that with a Medicare Advantage plan, all the services traditionally covered by Medicare Part A and B will now be covered under your Medicare Advantage plan. However, Medicare Advantage plans still require you to pay copay and coinsurance fees. The out-of-pocket maximum for these fees are around $6,700 for in-network services, and around $10,000 for out-of-network services depending on the plan.
Join, switch, or drop a Medicare Advantage Plan
To switch or drop a Medicare Advantage plan, you will need to wait until Annual Enrollment Period or the Medicare Advantage Disenrollment Period.
Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)
During this period individuals that have a Medicare Advantage plan, may enroll in or disenroll from a Medicare Advantage Plan. Outside of this period you may be limited to the types of changes you can make. Speak with one of our licensed agents to find out more.
Medicare Advantage Disenrollment Period
The Medicare Advantage disenrollment period is from January 1st to February 14th. During this time, individuals who are dissatisfied with their Medicare Advantage plan can disenroll and return to Original Medicare.
